Description of Belt Sludge Dewatering Machine
The belt sludge dewatering machine is a continuous sludge dewatering equipment widely used in municipal wastewater treatment plants, as well as in industries such as chemical, metallurgy, and paper manufacturing. Its primary function is to remove water from sludge through physical squeezing, thereby reducing the sludge volume and lowering the costs of sludge treatment and transportation.
Working Principle:
- Sludge Pretreatment: Before entering the dewatering machine, the sludge typically undergoes thickening and conditioning. By adding flocculants, the solid particles in the sludge aggregate into larger clusters, making it easier for subsequent dewatering.
- Gravity Dewatering Zone: The conditioned sludge first enters the gravity dewatering zone. In this area, the sludge on the filter belt loses most of its free water through gravity, gradually becoming more concentrated.
- Wedge Dewatering Zone: After gravity dewatering, the sludge enters the wedge dewatering zone. The filter belt begins to apply increasing pressure, lightly compressing the sludge and further removing some water, forming a thicker sludge layer.
- Pressurized Dewatering Zone: The sludge then moves into the pressurized dewatering zone, where the pressure between the filter belts increases, applying strong compression to the sludge and expelling the remaining water. At this stage, the water content in the sludge is significantly reduced, and a dewatered sludge cake is formed.
- Discharge and Filter Belt Cleaning: After dewatering, the filter belts automatically separate, and the dewatered sludge cake is discharged from the belt. The filter belt is then automatically cleaned to ensure its permeability and dewatering efficiency.
